New Minivans in Short Supply for '07

Hyundai's Entourage is the only brand new minivan for 2007.

Continuing a trend began last year, there is a dearth of new minivans for 2007. Just two new or redesigned models will hit dealerships: Hyundai enters the segment for the first time in the U.S. with the introduction of the Entourage, while Nissan tones down the interior of its Quest.

The Entourage, related to Kia's Sedona and similar in appearance, includes a number of standard safety features, including three-row side curtain-type airbags, and is powered by a 3.8-liter V-6 engine that returns gas mileage estimates that are average for a minivan (18/25, city/highway). Optional convenience features include power-adjustable pedals and a power liftgate.

For its '07 update, Nissan replaced the radical center gauge cluster in its Quest minivan with a more conventional panel in front of the driver. Minor exterior modifications have been made, but you'd have to be a Quest aficionado to pick out what's new.
