Prius Redesigned in Banner Year for Hybrids
This marks a banner year for hybrids. Toyota's iconic Prius has been redesigned, eking out an estimated 50 mpg overall. It will face Honda's Insight, a similarly styled hybrid with gas mileage in the low 40s that starts under $20,000. Those looking for something more conventional should check out the Ford Fusion Hybrid and the related Mercury Milan Hybrid. Both are all-new and have a 41-mpg EPA city rating that beats the competing Toyota Camry Hybrid by 8 mpg. On the luxury front, Lexus redesigned the popular RX 450h crossover and introduced a hybrid-only model in the HS 250h sedan.
