Editor's note: Full details of the 2011 Porsche Boxster are not available, but information on the 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder follows. Sold as a limited edition in a previous generation, the Boxster Spyder is now a new trim level for sale as a 2011 model. In most cars, the term spyder means convertible, but in the Boxster — which is always a convertible — it represents the model's lightest, most capable version. Features like a manual-folding soft-top, sport seats, aluminum sheet metal on the doors and lighter inside panels shave 176 pounds from the already lightweight Boxster. An additional 10 horsepower over the Boxster S also helps cut the zero-to-60-mph time to 4.6 seconds from 4.9 seconds. A new suspension lowers the car by nearly an inch. A limited-slip differential and distinctive wheels are standard.
