Manufacturer Lineup (all prices are MSRP)
Redesigns
Models that have undergone significant mechanical and/or sheet-metal changes since the previous model year
Mazda CX-7 (2010)
$21,550 - $32,885

The CX-7 five-seat crossover offers a non-turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the first time in the 2010 model, providing a higher-mileage option for those who don't crave the turbocharged engine's 244 horsepower. Priced between the Tribute and the large CX-9 crossover in the Mazda lineup, the CX-7 was designed to deliver the utility of a small SUV and the driving experience of a passenger car. Its competitors include the Ford Edge, Toyota Highlander and Nissan Murano in one regard, but the CX-7's sporty nature and wagon-like shape also liken it to the Volkswagen Tiguan and Infiniti EX35.
Mazda CX-9 (2010)
$28,635 - $34,045

For the 2010 model year, the CX-9 seven-seat crossover gets its most significant update since 2008, when its V-6 engine grew in size from 3.5 to 3.7 liters. Available with front- or all-wheel drive, the CX-9 competes with the Chevrolet Traverse, Hyundai Veracruz and Toyota Highlander.
Mazda Mazda3 (2010)
$15,295 - $22,000

The Mazda3 has been a sporty alternative for compact-car buyers since it debuted for the 2004 model year. It undergoes its first redesign for the 2010 model year and is still offered in sedan and four-door hatchback forms. The 2010 Mazda3 has all-new exterior and interior styling and is now available with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that offers more power than the four-cylinder it replaces. Competitors include the Honda Civic, Ford Focus and Nissan Sentra.
Mazda Mazda6 (2009)
$18,550 - $28,465

Mazda's midsize front-wheel-drive sedan benefits from a sportier nature than some of its competitors. For 2009, the Mazda6 has been redesigned, now sporting a more sophisticated exterior and interior design. It is also larger now, making it more comparable to its competition. Inline-four-cylinder (in "i" models) and V-6 ("s" models) engines are available in the Sport, Touring and Grand Touring trim levels. There's also a bare-bones SV trim level that gets only the four-cylinder. Competitors include midsize sport sedans like the Honda Accord and Chevrolet Malibu.
Mazda Mazdaspeed3 (2010)
$23,195

Coming in summer 2009, the 2010 Mazdaspeed3 is the performance version of the compact Mazda3, which was also redesigned for the 2010 model year. While the turbocharged engine is unchanged from the previous generation, the car looks dramatically different, outside and in. Historically one of the best values in performance cars, the Mazdaspeed3 competes with the Volkswagen GTI, Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Mini Cooper S JCW.
Mazda MX-5 Miata (2009)
$21,750 - $28,190

The 2009 MX-5 Miata is technically the 20th anniversary model because the roadster hit the market in 1989 as an early 1990 model. Much has changed over the decades, including the disappearance of the Miata name from the car's exterior in 2006 as part of its third-generation redesign. The 2009 is still the third-generation design, but with a light restyling and improved gas mileage. What hasn't changed is the formula: small, lightweight and affordable, a class that includes the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky, plus the higher-priced Honda S2000.
Mazda RX-8 (2009)
$26,435 - $31,930

Mazda's RX-8 receives minor exterior and interior updates for 2009, and the rotary-powered sports car can now be equipped with a new R3 sport package. Competitors include the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Nissan 350Z.
