What it is: The Honda Pilot is a three-row mid-size SUV that was redesigned in 2016. Most trim levels have seats for up to eight people in three rows. All versions are powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that teams with a six-speed automatic transmission or, on higher-priced models, a nine-speed automatic. Competitors include the Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer, Hyundai Santa Fe, Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota Highlander.
